Cyrus Johnasen – Principal & Founder

 

Cyrus Johnasen is a Hilo native dedicated to fostering connections and driving meaningful change across Hawaiʻi. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi and the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo with a degree in Political Science, he has spent nearly 15 years bridging the public, private, and community sectors through strategic communications, government relations, and advocacy.

 

As Communications Director and later Chief of Staff for the County of Hawaiʻi under Mayor Mitch Roth, Cyrus played a key role in shaping public messaging, policy initiatives, and intergovernmental relations. His work focused on strengthening trust between government and the people, addressing social disparities, and ensuring community voices guided decision-making.

 

As the Principal and Founder of Kōnane Consulting, Cyrus leverages his extensive network and experience to help organizations navigate Hawaiʻi’s complex landscape with integrity and respect. His expertise in public relations, community engagement, and policy strategy enables him to craft solutions that align innovation with local values while prioritizing relationships and sustainability.
